The old Boone County Jail was abandoned over 10 years ago, when the last prisoners were transfered to a new facility
Since that time, there have been multiple reports of strange lights, odd sounds and weird occurrences around the building at night. Considering that some of Indiana’s worst criminals have lived-and died- within the stone walls of this 19th century prison, it is no wonder that most people are afraid to enter the dank, dark walls of this modern-day dungeon.
Do you have the courage to confront what lies inside?
Escape artist Bill Shirk’s 7 p.m. record-setting escape, suspended high over Meridian Street while upside-down!
Two tours are available: the medium-security floor that is suitable for all visitors (with parental guidance) and the maximum-security floor that is only recommended for visitors older than age 13.
The haunted jail is not recommended for those with claustrophobia, heart or respiratory problems, pregnant women, visitors with seizure disorders or those fearful of the dark or loud noises. Due to the age and condition of the old jail, we regret that this event is not handicapped-accessible.
Concessions will be available onsite.
